When
the Lone Star Model A Ford Club hosted the
35th Texas
Tour in Georgetown,
Texas, USA in 1998, we had over 550 Model A’ers attend. We have several
special events planned for the 2005 Tour which have not been done before
and which should generate additional enthusiasm about this event.
In recognition of those who survived the Great Depression, fought
and won World War II, and helped build America into the world’s premier
nation, we are proclaiming the 2005 Texas Tour as a “Salute to the
Greatest Generation.” Think of it this way, not only did the Greatest
Generation do all those wonderful things, they helped the Model A Ford
survive to ultimately end up in our hands today.
Our
welcome party will find you attending a World War II USO Canteen which
we are creating in an aircraft hanger complete with one of the only
operational B-25 Mitchell bombers (built in 1944) courtesy of the Devil
Dog Squadron of the
Commemorative Air Force, along with various other WWII military
vehicles to inspect as we enjoy our dinner accompanied by big band
music.
We
are planning an air-conditioned bus tour to visit the new Bob Bullock
Texas State History Museum
in Austin and a tour of the
State
Capitol Building, a Hubley Derby, usually conducted only at national
conventions and the usual Model A Texas Tour events (Model A driving
tours, car judging, car games, technical seminars, fashion judging,
fashion show and an awards banquet.)
Print, fill out and mail in your
Registration Form. Use the
Hotel List to make your reservations.
Read up on Hubley Derby and get yours polished.
